In 2024, Ohio Society of Professional Journalists awarded Geniusz and the WOSU Newsroom Best Continuing Coverage in Radio for coverage of the Palestinian protests at Ohio State University.

Geniusz was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and is close to completeing a Bachelors of Science in Psychology as she works.
