In 2024, the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists awarded Geniusz and the WOSU Newsroom Best Continuing Coverage in Radio for coverage of the Palestinian protests at Ohio State University.

In 2025, the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists awarded Geniusz second place for Best Art and Entertainment Reporting in Digital Media for “Columbus man leaves behind the reading list of a lifetime – nearly 3,600 books” and second place for Best investigative Reporting in Radio with colleague Renee Fox for their three part “State of Energy” series.

Geniusz was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and is close to completeing a Bachelors of Science in Psychology as she works.
